معرفی
Marcin Baranowski is a Professor and Vice-Dean for Development and Medical Education in English at the Medical University of Bialystok, affiliated with the Department of Physiology within the Faculty of Medicine. His research focuses on lipid metabolism, exercise physiology, and bioactive lipid signaling in health and disease. Key areas include sphingolipid metabolism in cancer progression, hypoxia adaptations in athletes, and the molecular mechanisms underlying metabolic disorders.
His work integrates biochemical, physiological, and clinical approaches to study conditions such as renal cell carcinoma, bladder cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular health. He has published extensively on topics like sphingosine-1-phosphate dynamics, lipid profile modifications under hypoxia, and the role of bioactive lipids in aging and muscle function. Collaborative projects include studies on photodynamic therapy for oral premalignant lesions and the effects of high-intensity interval training on lipid metabolism.
Baranowski’s research trends emphasize interdisciplinary investigations into lipid signaling pathways, metabolic adaptations to exercise, and translational applications in clinical settings. His contributions span over 80 documented outputs, including peer-reviewed articles and a chapter on diving physiology in the textbook Fizjologia wysiłku i treningu fizycznego.
