Marcia Stewart is an Adjunct Professor at Lipscomb University, serving as a full-time faculty member since 1993. She holds an M.Ed. and Ed.D. in Curriculum and Supervision from Vanderbilt University, where she researched classwide peer tutoring. She teaches in Lipscomb’s undergraduate teacher preparation program and General Education, emphasizing transitions to college life and creativity in professional and personal development.
Her expertise includes early childhood education, social-emotional learning, and interdisciplinary teaching strategies. She has presented nationally on developmentally appropriate practices, leveraging literature for classroom connections. Stewart actively participates in professional organizations like NAEYC and ASCD.
She received Lipscomb’s Outstanding Teacher Award (2013) and advises teacher candidates through their academic journey. Beyond teaching, Stewart engages in campus Zumba classes and contributed to Lipscomb’s Interdisciplinary Engagements curriculum.
