Dr. Marcia Clare Allison is an Assistant Professor in Media and Communication at the University of Leeds, UK. She specializes in rhetoric, semiotics, and cultural history, focusing on intersections between ideology, politics, and communication related to the environment, science, gender, disability equity, and cultural memory. Her roles include Deputy Programme Lead for the BA in Media and Communication and module leader for COMM2125 Visual Communication.

Research Interests:
Dr. Allison combines discourse, visual, and material analyses with STS to explore evolving policies and cultural frameworks around climate change, gender inequality, disability equity, and public trust in science. Notable projects include:
- The Iron Curtain's transformation into a biodiversity conservation zone
- Critical analysis of UK's 'follow the science' rhetoric during the 2020 lockdown
- Eco-ableism in Greta Thunberg discourse
- Classical rhetoric in gender inequality advocacy (Manosphere)
Advising & Grants: Supervises PhD/MA students in environmental, political, gender, and disability communication. Former Milton Wolf Emerging Scholar (Diplomatic Academy, Vienna) and Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies (AIAS) Fellow.
Labs/Teams: Engages in interdisciplinary projects at Leeds, including collaborations on EU cultural memory initiatives and digital rhetoric studies.
