Marci Smith, M.S., is a Senior Lecturer and Undergraduate Internship Coordinator at the Division of Kinesiology and Health, College of Health Sciences, University of Wyoming. She specializes in teaching anatomy, clinical exercise physiology, and health assessment, while coordinating internships and study abroad programs.
- Education: M.S. in Kinesiology from Wake Forest University (1998), B.S. in Health and Exercise Science from Colorado State University (1995).
Research interests focus on translating exercise and aging research into community settings, functional strength training for older adults, physical activity interventions for chronic disease prevention, and clinical exercise physiology for special populations. She also explores global health perspectives through her study abroad courses in Italy.
Scientific awards include multiple Cap and Gown Chapter of Mortar Board Distinguished University Faculty Member recognitions (2007–2022), the John P. Ellbogen Meritorious Classroom Teaching Award (2022), and the ACSM Exercise is Medicine Level III Certification (2016).
