Marcel Veenswijk

Marcel Veenswijk is a part-time Full Professor in Management of Cultural Change at the VU University Amsterdam, affiliated with the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Organization Sciences department. He is also a Full Professor at the Network Institute and Organization & Processes of Organizing in Society (OPOS). As CEO of Bureau M/V, he bridges academic research with consultancy in organizational change.

• Specialties: Cultural intervention strategies, organizational change management, narratives of change, cross-cultural management, storytelling in organizations.
• Current research explores public-private partnerships, activity-based workspaces in higher education, and power dynamics in hybrid organizations.
• Recent publications focus on the interplay of urgent narratives in change processes, scapegoating in workspace design, and systemic contradictions in public-sector collaborations.
• He serves as Principal Investigator for the Leerstoel Publiek Private samenwerking in de financiële sector (2020–2027).

His work contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities) and SDG 16 (Institutions). Veenswijk has supervised 18 PhD theses and frequently acts as examiner in doctoral defenses.
