Prof. Dr. Marcel Senn is a retired Full Professor of Legal History, Contemporary Legal History, and Legal Philosophy at the University of Zurich (UZH), where he served as Dean (2008–2010) and Vice Dean (2006–2008). His research focuses on legal philosophy, Spinoza's influence on legal thought, and comparative legal systems, particularly Chinese legal studies. He holds a Walther Hug Prize (1983) for his doctoral work. Notable contributions include Legal History – A Cultural-Historical Outline (2007) and Legal and Social Philosophy (2017). He delivered his final lecture on Neoliberalism and North American Theories of Justice in 2019. His career included roles in banking and legal administration before academia.
