Marc Seigar is Dean of the College of Natural Science and Mathematics and Professor of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Toledo. With a PhD from Liverpool Astrophysics Research Institute, his research examines galaxy structure, supermassive black holes, and spiral arm morphology.
Work includes developing the P2DFFT algorithm for measuring spiral arm pitch angles and investigating relationships between dark matter halos and galaxy morphology. Recent studies probe the low-mass end of the black hole mass function in local spiral galaxies.
Publications focus on galaxy evolution, dark matter distributions, and supermassive black hole scaling relationships using multiwavelength observations.
