Marc Ramsay is an Associate Professor and Department Head in the Philosophy Department at Acadia University. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Western Ontario, an M.A. from Dalhousie University, and a B.A. from York University. His research focuses on ethics, philosophy of law, constitutional rights, children's rights, and egalitarian theories of justice. His work often explores the intersection of moral education, legal systems, and social justice, including the moral dimensions of parental rights and judicial review.
Ramsay teaches courses such as 1413, 1423, and others in philosophy and legal theory. His publications include influential articles in Legal Theory, Canadian Journal of Law and Jurisprudence, and Utilitas, addressing topics like freedom of expression, embryo ethics, and tort liability. He has contributed chapters to works like the International Encyclopedia of Ethics and Taking Responsibility For Children.
