Dr. Marc Nespoli is the Medical Director of the Mental Health Clinic at VA Connecticut's Newington campus, leading a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and administrative staff. He holds an academic appointment as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Yale University, where he teaches courses in capacity evaluations, cognitive assessments, and home-based psychiatry. His clinical practice focuses on geriatric psychiatry, providing outpatient care to older veterans while training medical students, residents, and fellows.
Dr. Nespoli's education includes a BA from the University of Virginia (1993), an MPH from Yale University (1997), an MD from the University of Vermont College of Medicine (2001), and a Geriatric Psychiatry fellowship at Yale University (2012). He completed his residency at Boston University (2005).
His research and clinical interests emphasize geriatric mental health, home-based care models, and cognitive assessment methodologies. He has contributed to academic publications, including a book chapter on the Psychiatric Guide to Home-Based Primary Care and another on Geriatric Assessment. Dr. Nespoli has also been an invited speaker at the Alzheimer's Association of Connecticut.
