PD Dr. Marc Mölders is a Senior Academic Councillor in Technology Assessment/Sociology of Law at the Department of Law and Society (Faculty of Sociology, Universität Bielefeld). He holds a diploma in Sociology (2005, summa cum laude) and a PhD (2009, summa cum laude) from Bielefeld University. His research focuses on algorithms in law, differentiation theory, media sociology, and organizational sociology. He is affiliated with Prof. Bora’s research group (AG Bora) and contributes to the Center of Citizenship, Migration and Development (COMCAD).
Key achievements include the 2019 Bielefeld Equal Opportunities Award and the 2010 Dissertation Prize. His work bridges legal sociology with technology assessment, emphasizing societal correction mechanisms and the evolution of institutional frameworks in digital contexts. He has held temporary academic roles since 2014 and has collaborated on projects with the BMBF Leading-Edge Cluster 'Intelligent Technical Systems' and TU Dortmund.
