Marc L. Busch is the Karl F. Landegger Professor of International Business Diplomacy at Georgetown University's Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service and Government Department. He holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University. His expertise focuses on international trade policy, law, and dispute resolution mechanisms. He writes a bi-weekly column on trade for The Hill and has advised U.S. government agencies, including the Department of Commerce and United States Trade Representative. His global engagements include addressing the Advisory Centre on WTO Law, UN, and World Bank.
Busch's research interests span technical trade barriers, trade litigation (e.g., Airbus-Boeing, softwood lumber disputes), and institutional frameworks for dispute settlement. He has testified before U.S. Congress, Canadian Senate, and NAFTA panels. His consulting clients include APCO Worldwide, McKinsey & Company, and Philip Morris International. Previously, he taught at Queen’s University and Harvard, where his course Business, Government, and the Global Economy was recognized by Forbes in 2010.
