Marc Hillmyer

Marc Hillmyer is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Minnesota, affiliated with the College of Science and Engineering. He serves as Director of the NSF Center for Sustainable Polymers and is a member of the Institute for Engineering in Medicine.

Research interests include advanced macromolecular materials, sustainable polymers from renewable resources, hybrid macromolecular structures, polymer synthesis techniques (controlled polymerizations, selective modifications), and structure-property relationships. His work focuses on foundational polymer science and technologically important applications.

The Hillmyer Research Group actively collaborates with other University of Minnesota polymer science groups, emphasizes diversity and inclusion, and accepts new undergraduate and graduate research students. Lab facilities are located in Kolthoff Hall.
