Marc Dweck is a Professor of Clinical Cardiology and British Heart Foundation Senior Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh. He serves as a Consultant Cardiologist and Vice President Elect of the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging.
His research focuses on multi-modality imaging (echocardiography, CT, MRI, PET) to advance understanding of cardiovascular pathophysiology in aortic stenosis, coronary atherosclerosis, and cardiomyopathy. Key projects include SALTIRE 2, EVOLVED, and PREFFIR trials evaluating imaging-based risk prediction.
- Key Research Areas: Plaque rupture mechanisms, novel therapeutics for valvular disease, cardiac manganese uptake in diabetes, and hybrid imaging techniques.
