Marc-Andre Selosse

Marc-Andre Selosse serves as a Professor and Head of Laboratory in the Department of Plant Taxonomy and Nature Conservation at the Faculty of Biology, University of Gdańsk. His institutional affiliation centers on advancing research in plant-microbe interactions and biodiversity conservation.

His research expertise spans Plant Symbioses, Symbiosis, Botany, Ecology, Plant Taxonomy, and Nature Conservation. He investigates mutualistic and parasitic relationships between plants and fungi, particularly mycorrhizal associations, to understand ecosystem resilience and evolutionary adaptations. This work provides critical insights for conservation strategies in threatened habitats.

As Head of the Laboratory of Plant Symbioses, he directs experimental studies on symbiotic networks, employing molecular and ecological methodologies to analyze plant-fungal coevolution. His team examines how symbiotic interactions influence nutrient cycling, forest regeneration, and responses to environmental stressors.
