Mara Senghi Soares

Dr. Mara Senghi Soares is an Associate Professor in the Department of Particles and Astroparticle Physics at the Faculty of Science, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She serves as the Dutch representative of the LHCb Collaboration at CERN since November 2023. Her research focuses on high-energy particle physics, including studies of CP violation, baryon/hadron decays, and collider physics. She contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals through her work in advancing scientific understanding and technological innovation.

Research Interests: Particle Physics, Astroparticle Physics, Quantum Chromodynamics, and experimental techniques in high-energy physics. Specific areas include analysis of B-meson decays, resonance physics, and asymmetry measurements in particle interactions.

Teaching: Teaches Programming for MNW at VU Amsterdam (2024–2025).

Collaborations: Active member of the LHCb Collaboration, analyzing data from the Large Hadron Collider. Recent work includes studies on quarkonium states, charm physics, and decay dynamics.
