معرفی
Dr. Manuel Temprado Morena is a Full Professor at the University of Alcalá, serving as Secretary of the 'Andrés del Río' Institute for Chemical Research. He is affiliated with the Department of Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, where he teaches across multiple programs including Biology, Chemistry, and Pharmacy degrees.
Dr. Temprado Morena's research focuses on computational chemistry, photochemistry, and organometallic chemistry. His work spans the development of computational models for photoinduced processes, study of molecular switches and motors, quantum chemical studies of molecular systems, and the theoretical investigation of mechanochemistry and photomechanochemistry. He is particularly known for his contributions to understanding reaction mechanisms in organometallic systems and developing predictive models for mechanochemical processes.
His recent publications (2023-2025) demonstrate a strong focus on computational modeling of reactivity under ball-milling conditions, molecular switch design, and fundamental organometallic reaction mechanisms. These works appear in high-impact journals including Journal of Chemical Theory and Computation, Organometallics, and Inorganic Chemistry, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of his research spanning computational, physical, and inorganic chemistry.
Dr. Temprado Morena is actively involved in multiple research projects, most notably the 2025-2029 'Mechanophotchemistry of Complex Systems' project funded by the Ministry of Science with 145,000 euros. He also participates in projects related to metal complexes for dinitrogen activation, solar fuel design, and science outreach initiatives.
As a dedicated educator, he teaches Principles of Physics and Biophysics, Basic Laboratory Operations, and Basic Chemistry courses, integrating his research expertise to provide students with both theoretical foundations and practical applications in modern chemical research. His research group, the 'Reactividad y Estructura Molecular,' provides opportunities for students to engage in cutting-edge computational and theoretical chemistry research.
