Manuel Ammann

Manuel Ammann is the President of the University of St.Gallen (HSG) since 2024 and a Full Professor of Finance. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from HSG and a habilitation from the University of Basel. His academic leadership roles include Dean of the School of Finance (2015–2019) and Academic Director of the Center for Financial Services Innovation (FSI-HSG) since 2022. He founded the Master’s Programme in Banking and Finance (MBF-HSG) in 2004 and directs the Swiss Institute of Banking and Finance (s/bf-HSG). Previously, he served on the boards of St.Galler Kantonalbank AG and Neue Bank AG until stepping down to focus on his presidential duties. His research spans financial innovation, risk management, cryptocurrency markets, and governance.
