Christoph Kley

Dr. Christoph Kley is a Senior Lecturer in Banking & Finance and Project Manager at the ZHAW School of Management and Law, Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW). He serves as President of the Academic Senate of ZHAW. His expertise spans FinTech, Digital Banking, Wealth Management, Risk Management (especially credit risk), and corporate steering in banking. He holds a Dr. oec. HSG (Doctorate in Banking & Finance) from the University of St.Gallen (1998–2003) and a Lic.oec. HSG (Master's) from the same institution (1993–1998). Additional qualifications include a CAS in University Teaching Didactics (ZHAW, 2012) and a Certified Controlling Advisor (EBS, 2011).

His research focuses on banking innovation, risk management, and digital transformation. Recent work includes studies on agile banking practices during the pandemic and cryptocurrency market liquidity. He has authored/co-authored over 30 peer-reviewed articles and books, including Schweizerische Bankbetriebslehre (2013) and contributions to the Wirtschaftswissenschaftliches Studium journal.

Key projects include the 'Robo Market Making Feasibility Study' and 'Future Study - Banking Specialists 2030'. His consulting work spans 9 years in management consulting for banks and financial institutions. He leads the Fachstelle für Personal Finance & Wealth Management at ZHAW, emphasizing practical teaching tools like banking simulations and entrepreneurship education.
