Dr. Manonita Ghosh is a Research Fellow in the Social Ageing (SAGE) Futures Lab at Edith Cowan University's School of Arts and Humanities. She also serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Anthropology and Ageing Journal. With dual master's degrees (Sociology from Dhaka University and Anthropology from UWA), she holds a PhD in Population Health from the University of Western Australia. Her work focuses on aging, health services, and music-based interventions for migrants.
Research highlights include leading the NHMRC-funded 'Befriending with GENIE' project for dementia care and developing the SAGE Social Frailty Index. She pioneered the Patients’ Acceptability Index for stroke neurorehabilitation and founded multicultural choir Oikotan to promote cultural exchange. Awards include the 2024 Facilitating Research Collaboration Grant and the 2009 Community Research Award.
