Professor Loretta Baldassar is a Vice Chancellor's Professorial Research Fellow in the School of Arts and Humanities at Edith Cowan University (ECU). She holds a Professorship in Anthropology and Sociology and leads the Social Ageing (SAGE) Futures Lab, focusing on social care across the life-course, migration studies, and digital ageing. Her work bridges social science research with creative/caring professions, emphasizing transnational families, ageing, and cultural diversity. She co-founded the Western Australian Migration Research Network and leads the TRACS Migration Research Network, collaborating internationally on projects like the UK Sustainable Care Project and the DEMIKNOW initiative.

Research Interests: Her research spans transnational families, ageing and technology, migration policy, and youth mobilities. Key projects include the ARC Discovery Project on Ageing and New Media, exploring how digital tools foster support networks for older migrants. She also collaborates on the Youth Mobilities Project, studying young people’s transnational transitions.
