Manon Habekotté

Manon Habekotté is a Senior Lecturer in Art History, Art Appreciation, and Art Theory at the Breitner Academy (Amsterdam University of the Arts). She holds a Master’s in Art History from Leiden University and completed teacher training at ICLON – Leiden University Graduate School of Teaching. Her work focuses on preparing educators for multicultural art education contexts through collaborative global initiatives.

Research emphasizes intercultural exchange in art pedagogy, notably via Erasmus+ collaborations with Hamidrasha Faculty of the Arts (Israel). She co-developed an online course uniting students from Amsterdam and Israel to explore contemporary art through diverse cultural lenses. This addresses globalisation trends in art and prepares educators for multicultural student populations.

Publications include Between spaces: Art appreciation lessons as a platform for intercultural exchange (2022), detailing her research on pedagogical frameworks for cross-cultural art dialogue.
