George Manolitsis is a Professor at the University of Crete, specializing in Educational Psychology & Early Childhood. He previously served as Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Cyprus (2007). His research focuses on early literacy development, home literacy environments, and behavioral aspects of early childhood education. He holds a PhD in Sciences of Education from the University of Crete (2000), along with an MSc and BSc in Preschool Education.
Key research interests include morphological awareness, phonological awareness, and the impact of behavioral issues on learning. He has contributed to international projects like the European Literacy Policy Network (ELINET) and promotes teacher well-being through initiatives like the School-Wide Positive Behavior Support framework.
His publications span over 40 peer-reviewed articles, focusing on literacy development, cross-cultural studies, and teacher efficacy. He has secured grants for projects addressing early childhood education quality and teacher support. Collaborations include institutions in Cyprus, Portugal, and Romania.
