Manochehr Dorraj

Manochehr Dorraj is a Professor of Political Science at Texas Christian University's AddRan College of Liberal Arts. He holds appointments in the Political Science department and is affiliated with the Master of Liberal Arts program. Dr. Dorraj received his Ph.D. in Political Science from The University of Texas at Austin in 1984. His academic expertise spans International Relations, Comparative Politics, and Political Theory with a concentration on Middle Eastern Studies.

His research interests focus on International Political Economy, Energy and Global Geostrategy, Middle East Political Economy, Middle East Foreign Policy, Middle East-Asia-Pacific Relations, and Middle East-China Relations. In Comparative Politics, he specializes in Politics in Developing Nations, Middle East Politics, Political Economy of Development, Democratization, and Social Movements. His work in Political Theory centers on Modern Western Political Thought, Religion and Politics, and Islam and Politics.

Dr. Dorraj has been invited to present his scholarship at prestigious institutions including John Hopkins, Yale, Harvard, UCLA, UT Austin, Texas A&M, universities in Canada, Great Britain, Scotland, Czech Republic, China, Singapore, and Vietnam. He has also spoken at think tanks and international organizations such as the Hudson Institute, World Bank, and various strategic research centers in the Middle East.
