Hadi Hosainy is an Instructor at Texas Christian University (TCU), affiliated with the AddRan College of Liberal Arts and the Department of History. His research bridges Early Modern Middle East studies, Islamic law, and gender/slavery dynamics, with additional ties to the university’s Middle Eastern Studies program.

Research Interests focus on the Ottoman Empire, Islamic legal systems, and their intersections with gender, slavery, family structures, and pious endowments. His work interrogates historical practices in Sharia courts and the role of non-judicial actors in shaping legal outcomes.
Publications include a 2015 article in the Journal of the Ottoman and Turkish Studies Association analyzing 17th-century Istanbul’s legal dynamics. His submitted work on domestic female slaves in the Ottoman context further underscores his expertise in marginalized social groups within Islamic law.
