معرفی
Manju Prasad, MD, MBBS, is a Professor of Pathology and Director of Endocrine, Head & Neck Pathology at Yale School of Medicine. She specializes in oncologic pathology of head and neck cancers, including thyroid, parathyroid, and salivary gland tumors. Her research focuses on molecular mechanisms underlying endocrine cancers and improving diagnostic approaches through genetic and immunohistochemical analyses.
Education & Training:
- Fellowship: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (2000)
- Fellowship: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (1999)
- Residency: New York Presbyterian Hospital (1998)
- MD: Institute of Medical Sciences, Varanasi (1984)
- MBBS: Institute of Medical Sciences, Varanasi (1981)
Research Interests: Dr. Prasad’s work spans thyroid carcinoma molecular profiling, head/neck melanoma in UV-protected sites, HPV-associated head/neck cancers, and public education on endocrine tumors. She leads an ACGME-accredited Endocrine & Head & Neck Pathology Fellowship program.
Key Contributions:
- Developed diagnostic frameworks for thyroid nodules with genetic fusions (e.g., THADA-IGF2BP3) and non-V600E BRAF mutations.
- Advanced global consensus on NIFTP classification through multi-institutional studies.
- Pioneered single-cell analysis of parathyroid tissue to understand transcriptional dynamics.
Awards:
- 2023: Yale Cancer Center Award for Excellence in Clinical Care
Labs/Teams: Directs the Endocrine & Head & Neck Pathology division, collaborating with molecular and cytopathology teams. Active in the Endocrine Cancers Program and Head and Neck SPORE initiatives.
