Manisha Nair

Manisha Nair is a Professor of Epidemiology and Global Health at the University of Oxford, specializing in maternal and perinatal health research. She established the Maternal and Perinatal Health Research Collaboration (MaatHRI) in India, leading large-scale epidemiological studies to improve pregnancy care and outcomes.

Her research focuses on maternal anemia, cardiovascular diseases in pregnancy, fetal heart development, and AI-driven cardiac ultrasound (FoCUS Solutions) for low-resource settings. She has published extensively on stillbirth prevention, labor management, and maternal mortality reduction.

Recent work trends include stillbirth reviews in India, congenital heart disease linked to maternal anemia, and community interventions in sub-Saharan Africa. Awards include MRC Career Development Fellowships and Fogarty International Scholar recognition.

She collaborates with teams across India, the UK, and Uganda, with grants from the Medical Research Council and WHO. Her MaatHRI platform provides critical clinical, biochemical, and imaging data for maternal health research.
