Mani Sehgal

Mani Sehgal is Dean of the College of Professional Studies and faculty member at Hawaii Pacific University (HPU), where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Mathematics Education. He is affiliated with the School of Education and has been with HPU for over 15 years, previously teaching in the Mathematics Department for six years.

His educational background includes an MBA and an M.Ed in Math Education from the University of Hawaii, and he is currently Ph.D. (ABD) in Math Education at the University of Victoria.

Dr. Sehgal's research and professional interests focus on technology integration in education, including the use of video, ICT tools, and online learning environments to enhance classroom instruction, particularly in high school mathematics. He has presented on topics such as 'Video in Education', 'The Classroom Environment – Online vs. In-class', and 'Effective use of ICT in High School Mathematics'.

He is actively leading the dual credit initiative with multiple high schools on Oahu, expanding access to college-level coursework for secondary students.

As Dean, he combines academic leadership with ongoing teaching and curriculum innovation, reflecting a strong commitment to educational excellence and modern pedagogical practices.
