Chandra M. Sehgal, Ph.D. is a Research Professor of Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania's Perelman School of Medicine. She serves as Director of the Ultrasound Research Laboratory at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Director of the Ultrasound Service Center, and Director of the Ultrasound Core for SAIF, all within the Department of Radiology. Her extensive career spans several decades with significant contributions to ultrasound technology and medical imaging.

Dr. Sehgal earned her B.S. and M.S. in Chemistry from the University of Delhi, India (1972 and 1974, respectively), followed by a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Saskatchewan (1979). Her post-graduate training included a Research Fellowship in Environmental Health at Johns Hopkins University (1979-1981) and a Research Associate position in the Department of Physics and Biophysics at Mayo Clinic (1981-1985).
