Malsha Nadeetharu Buddhakorala serves as a visiting lecturer at the Department of Building Economics, University of Moratuwa, and contributes as a research assistant to the TRANSCEND project at THINKlab, University of Salford. Her work integrates technological innovation to advance sustainability and disaster resilience in construction sectors globally.

Her research spans construction management, disaster management, and digital twin applications with acute focus on community resilience to climate change. She systematically analyzes economic models to identify climate impact variables on Sri Lankan livelihoods, developing targeted resilience measures through interdisciplinary frameworks combining sustainability science and digital infrastructure.
At THINKlab, University of Salford, she advances Work Package 03 of the TRANSCEND project—developing Collaborative Foresight and Decision-Making Platforms under supervision of Prof. Udayangani Kulatunga and Prof. Bingunath Ingirige. Her methodology integrates systematic literature review with field-based community engagement to translate economic modeling into actionable resilience strategies.
She actively collaborates with THINKlab’s research ecosystem focused on resilient smart cities, leveraging multi-hazard early warning systems and climate-resilient infrastructure frameworks demonstrated in projects like Fuvahmulah City’s impact-based warning system launched at COP29.
