Dr. Mallika Sekhar is a Consultant Haematologist at the Royal Free Hospital and an Honorary Associate Professor in Haematology at UCL Medical School. She holds a Visiting Research Fellow position at the UCL Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS) from September 2024 to November 2025.

Her expertise spans chronic bone marrow cancers and transfusion medicine, with a focus on improving patient care for myeloproliferative neoplasms and abdominal vein thrombosis. Her current cross-disciplinary work examines the UK Infected Blood Inquiry report to derive systemic lessons for public health and medical ethics.
Dr. Sekhar also explores medical error and healthcare communication through her 2022 podcast series, ‘The Bitter Pill’. She actively bridges clinical practice, policy analysis, and medical education in her work.
