Malin Ah-King is a Senior Lecturer in Gender Studies at Örebro University, Sweden. She holds a PhD in Evolutionary Biology and works at the intersection of feminist science studies and evolutionary biology. Her academic career includes affiliations with institutions like Uppsala University’s Centre for Gender Research, UCLA’s Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and Macquarie University’s Department of Biology. She is affiliated with the Centre for Feminist Social Studies (CFS) and the Center for Social Science Environmental and Sustainability Research (CESSS).
Research Interests: Ah-King’s work challenges biological sex binaries, critiques gender stereotypes in evolutionary theory, and examines scientific controversies around sex differences. Key areas include feminist critiques of evolutionary biology, the historical shift in perceptions of females in evolutionary research (documented in her book The Female Turn), and interdisciplinary research on gender and biology.
