Malika Aid-Boudries, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Center for Virology and Vaccine Research (CVVR), Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), affiliated with Harvard Medical School. She leads the BCGE Laboratory, focusing on computational biology and machine learning approaches to study disease pathogenesis and vaccine immunogenicity.
Education:
- B.Sc. in Computer Science Engineering, UMMTO, Algeria (1995)
- M.Sc. in Biology, Department of Biochemistry, University of Montreal (2007)
- Ph.D. in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, Institute for Research in Immunology and Cancer, University of Montreal (2014)
Her research integrates epigenetics profiling and machine learning to analyze OMICS signatures in disease pathogenesis, particularly focusing on HIV integration and latent reservoir maintenance. She also investigates baseline and post-vaccination biomarkers for vaccine durability and immunogenicity.
Scientific Awards:
- Diversity Inclusion and Community Partnership (DICP) Faculty Fellowship Award (2023-2025)
- Biochemistry Department Excellence Scholarship (2010–2011)
- Excellence Scholarship for Ph.D. student (2007–2010)
- Excellence Scholarship for Master’s Student (2006–2007)
Dr. Aid-Boudries has held prior positions including Instructor in Medicine and Staff Scientist at Harvard Medical School. Her recent publications highlight her work on vaccine response mechanisms in COVID-19, Mpox, and Mycobacterium tuberculosis models.
