معرفی
Malcolm Kennedy is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow's School of Biodiversity, One Health & Veterinary Medicine. His research focuses on lipid-binding proteins in parasitic nematodes, immunomodulatory proteins, and the structural and functional biology of proteins involved in animal behavior and physiology. He has contributed to studies on frog foam nests, seal lactation, and the molecular mechanisms of viviparity in mammals. His work integrates biochemistry, molecular biology, and evolutionary perspectives.
Key areas of investigation include the structure and function of fatty acid and retinol-binding proteins (FAR), allergen proteins, and nest foam proteins. He has collaborated on projects exploring host-parasite interactions, marine turtle nesting behavior, and the metabolic transitions in mammalian lactation. His research also addresses the evolutionary adaptations of proteins in diverse species, from nematodes to giant pandas.
Recent studies highlight his focus on lipid carrier proteins in whipworms, the biophysical properties of frog foams, and the immune dynamics in grey seals. His work bridges fundamental biological inquiry with potential applications in drug development and understanding environmental adaptations.
