Maja Zehfuss is a Professor at the Department of Political Science, University of Copenhagen, specializing in migration politics, ethics, and international relations. Her work explores temporality, memory, and subjectivity in global governance.
- Co-founder of the British International Studies Association Poststructural Politics Working Group
- Current editorial board member for Critical Studies on Security, Cooperation and Conflict, and Journal of International Relations and Development
- Supervisor of 15 completed PhD students and 4 current advisees
Her research spans migration, war ethics, and critical theory, with influential monographs on militarization and international governance. She has received the BISA Susan Strange Book Prize honourable mention and is a Fellow of the UK’s Academy of Social Sciences.
She previously held positions at the University of Warwick and the University of Manchester (Honorary Professor) and served as Associate Dean for Postgraduate Research at Manchester.
