Maja Herstad is a PhD student in Sociology and a Lecturer at Karlstad University, affiliated with the Centre for Gender Studies (CGF) and the Centre for Research on Sustainable Societal Transformation (CRS). Her work bridges academic research and practical gender equality initiatives in organizational contexts.
Research Interests: Gender equality, diversity work in organizations, sociology of emotion, and critical gender mainstreaming. She examines how emotions shape power dynamics and transformative practices in corporate and institutional settings.
Recent Publications highlight discomfort as a catalyst for progress in gender equality work and strategies for inclusive meetings. Her teaching and external workshops focus on norm-critical pedagogy, gender mainstreaming, and organizational change, with applications across humanitarian aid, education, and energy sectors.
