Mairead Cardamone-Breen is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Turner Institute for Brain & Mental Health, Monash University, and a psychologist at Monash Health. She specializes in parenting interventions for youth mental health, particularly depression and anxiety prevention. Her work focuses on the Partners in Parenting (PiP) program, an online intervention evaluated in RCTs across Australia and the UK. She also contributes to clinical care for eating disorders and OCD-related conditions.
Projects:
- Co-designing digital parenting interventions with peer-coaching (2023-2027)
- Mobilising parents in the post-COVID mental health response (2020-2022)
- Evaluating the PiP program (2016-2018)
Research Interests: Parenting strategies, transdiagnostic approaches, online mental health interventions, and adolescent mental health prevention. Her work aligns with UN SDGs for health and well-being (SDG 3).
Grants & Collaborations: Funded by the Windermere Foundation, Australian Department of Health, and global partnerships. Active collaborations span Australia, the UK, and Malaysia for cultural adaptation of PiP.
