Maili Malin

Maili Malin is a Senior Researcher at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), working within the Welfare State Research and Reform Unit, specifically the Social Security and Services Team. Her work focuses on social welfare, health equity, and child protection, particularly among migrant populations and vulnerable youth.

Her research interests include:

• Health and wellbeing disparities in population subgroups
• Child protection services and outcomes
• Migrant-origin populations, especially women, children, and youth
• Long-term outcomes for individuals with histories of out-of-home care
• Refugee integration and socioeconomic equity
