Maika Yeigh serves as Associate Professor and Secondary Program Director in the Department of Teaching, School Counseling, and Leadership Studies at Lewis & Clark College. She joined from Portland State University with expertise in Language Arts teacher preparation and clinical practice development, grounded in practitioner research connecting classroom experiences to broader educational frameworks.
Her research centers on preparing educators for Language Arts classrooms and improving novice teacher clinical preparation through locally embedded practitioner research. As editorial board member of the Northwest Journal of Teacher Education (NWJTE), she champions scholarship addressing educational equity, anti-Blackness, pandemic teaching impacts, and curriculum epistemicide while supporting emerging scholars and scholars of color.
Yeigh maintains active partnerships with Portland-metro area schools, collaborating directly with teachers and administrators to strengthen teacher education programs. Her leadership extends to bringing NWJTE to Lewis & Clark, where themed issues promote critical discourse on contemporary educational challenges.
