Dr. Maik Biroth is a Researcher and postdoc in the group of Professor Achim Denig at the Department of Nuclear Physics, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. His research focuses on experimental particle physics, particularly dark matter detection and accelerator-based experiments. He contributes to the MESA accelerator project, working on the DarkMESA and MAGIX experiments to explore dark matter and dark photons.
Education:
- Completed his diploma and PhD theses at the Institute of Nuclear Physics (JGU Mainz).
- Conducted research at the A2 experiment of the MAMI accelerator.
Research Interests:
- Development of modular calorimeters and silicon strip detectors for high-rate particle detection.
- Optimization of hybrid signal readout systems.
- Indirect and direct detection methods for dark matter.
