Maija Dahlberg is an Associate Professor of Public Law at the University of Eastern Finland's Law School, Faculty of Social Sciences and Business Studies. Her research focuses on judicial legitimacy, constitutional interpretation, and transparency in governance.

Her research explores the legitimacy of constitutional courts, transparency in ex ante constitutional review, and comparative Nordic constitutional reasoning. She examines how political, legal, and media dynamics intersect in constitutional scrutiny, particularly during crises like the pandemic.
Recent publications analyze Finnish Supreme Court jurisprudence, minority language rights under constitutional law, and the impact of political pressures on constitutional interpretation. Her work often bridges empirical legal analysis with normative debates.
