Mahmoud El Hajem

Mahmoud El Hajem is an Associate Professor (Maître de Conférences, HDR) at INSA Lyon, affiliated with the Laboratoire de Mécanique des Fluides et d’Acoustique (LMFA - UMR 5509). His research focuses on fluid mechanics and acoustics, with specializations in environmental flows, aeroacoustics of rotating machines, and turbulence modeling. He is part of the Fluides Complexes et Transferts research team and leads the QaiCar project. His work integrates numerical simulations and experimental techniques, leveraging advanced facilities like anechoic wind tunnels and particle image velocimetry (PIV).

He holds a HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches), enabling him to supervise doctoral research. The LMFA, hosted across multiple institutions including École Centrale Lyon and Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, supports his interdisciplinary projects addressing societal challenges in energy, transportation, and environmental risk mitigation.
