Christopher Bogey

Christopher Bogey is a CNRS Researcher at the Laboratory of Fluid Mechanics and Acoustics (LMFA - UMR 5509), affiliated with École Centrale de Lyon in France. He is a permanent member of the Acoustics research team within this prestigious joint research unit that also involves CNRS, INSA Lyon, and Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1.

His research focuses on fundamental and applied aspects of fluid mechanics and acoustics, with particular emphasis on aeroacoustics, compressible flow dynamics, and wave propagation phenomena. The Acoustics team at LMFA specializes in three main areas: aeroacoustics of rotating machines, dynamics and acoustics of compressible shear flows, and propagation in inhomogeneous media with nonlinear effects.

As a CNRS researcher, Dr. Bogey contributes to the laboratory's extensive experimental and numerical capabilities, which include advanced facilities such as anechoic and supersonic wind tunnels, environmental hydrodynamics channels, and sophisticated measurement techniques including PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry), Laser Doppler velocimetry, and PLIF (Planar Laser-Induced Fluorescence).

The LMFA maintains strong connections with industrial partners including SAFRAN, AIRBUS, and FRAMATOME, suggesting potential applied research collaborations in aerospace and energy sectors where acoustics and fluid dynamics play critical roles.
