Maha Othman

Maha Othman is a Full Professor in Biomedical and Molecular Sciences at Queen's University, with cross-appointments at St. Lawrence College. Her clinical pathology background includes specialized training in hemostasis and platelet disorders.

Research focuses on thrombotic mechanisms in cancer, diagnostic methods for bleeding disorders, and gynecologic oncology applications. She leads international studies on Platelet-Type von Willebrand Disease and develops thromboelastography protocols for clinical use.

Othman chairs the ISTH Scientific Committee on Women's Health Issues and serves as Editor-in-Chief of Current Opinion in Hematology. She mentors students in health sciences and maintains collaborations across 20+ countries.
