Livia Hegerova

Livia Hegerova, M.D. is an Academic Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She practices at the Fred Hutch Cancer Center - South Lake Union as part of her clinical responsibilities.

Dr. Hegerova received her M.D. from the University of Washington, completed her Internal Medicine residency at Mayo Clinic, and pursued her Hematology/Oncology fellowship at the University of Minnesota. She maintains board certification in both Hematology and Oncology through the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Her clinical expertise encompasses aplastic anemia, autoimmune diseases, blood disorders, benign red blood cell disorders, iron metabolism, and idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura. Dr. Hegerova's clinical interests specifically focus on hemostasis and thrombosis, cytopenias, and hematologic disorders in pregnancy. Her research program centers on clinical trials to optimize therapies for nonmalignant blood conditions such as von Willebrand disease and cold agglutinin disease.
