Maggie Holland

Maggie Holland, Ph.D., MPH is an Assistant Professor at the University of New Haven in the Department of Population Health and Leadership, affiliated with the School of Health Sciences. Her work focuses on maternal and child health, particularly through home visiting programs for low-income families, with funding from the NIH (NINR and NICHD).

Her research spans diverse topics: examining attrition in home visiting programs, analyzing gestational weight gain and its long-term effects, investigating maternal depression and child healthcare use, and studying surveillance bias in child maltreatment reporting. Recent studies include pandemic impacts on child abuse cases and BIPOC health disparities.

Methodologically, she specializes in administrative data analysis and longitudinal research. Current projects involve intergenerational trauma studies, birth outcome analysis, and healthcare access in vulnerable populations.
