Dr. Maeve Doyle is a Lecturer in the Department of Humanities at South East Technological University (SETU), specializing in Psychology and Social Care Education. She holds a PhD from Ulster University examining unemployment, mental health, and suicide, alongside postgraduate qualifications in Applied Behavioural Analysis and Addiction Studies.
Research & Leadership: Dr. Doyle leads SETU’s EDI initiatives, including managing the Athena Swan Bronze Award project and chairing the Data Collection & Analysis sub-group of the SETU EDI committee. She contributed to the university’s strategic plan Connecting for Impact and was elected to the Academic Council in 2024. Her research spans mental health equity, EDI in education, and student support systems.
Awards & Recognition: Recipient of the 2023 Irish Research Council Research Ally Award, 2022 Ulysses Laureate grant (enabling collaborative suicide research in France), and 2021 Teaching Hero Award. She completed the Aurora Women in Leadership Programme in 2024.
Teaching: Teaches Psychology in Professional Social Care Practice, Early Childhood Education, and Masters-level Child Youth & Family Studies. She advocates for inclusive educational practices and has organized EDI-focused events like ‘EDI at the Heart of Humanities’.
