معرفی
Maddalena Comini is a Post Doctoral Research Fellow at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences (University of Oxford) and a Stipendiary Lecturer in Neurophysiology and Experimental Psychology at St Catherine's College. She also serves as a Tutor at Somerville College and Graduate College Adviser, with roles spanning research, teaching, and academic administration.
Education:
- PhD in Cellular Biophysics, Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres (Fz Jülich)
Her research focuses on molecular mechanisms of pain perception, particularly the role of VGSC Nav1.6 and calcium-permeable TRPA1 channels in channelopathies. Using patch clamp electrophysiology, multi-electrode arrays, and molecular biology techniques in HEK293T cells, mouse DRG, and human iPSC-derived sensory neurons, she aims to identify novel therapeutic targets for pain disorders.
Key trends in her recent publications include pain genetics, neuropathic pain modeling, and computational analysis of electrophysiological data. She has contributed to open-source tools like MEAanalysis for neurophysiological data visualization.
