Mackenzie Israel-Trummel is an Associate Professor of Government at William & Mary, with affiliations in Public Policy and prior roles at the University of Oklahoma. Her work bridges political socialization, immigration policy, and racial/ethnic politics.

Her research focuses on how social movements influence child-rearing practices, deportation threat perceptions, and attitudes toward judicial fairness. She employs experimental methods to study perspective-taking and racialized policy preferences.
Recent publications include analyses of mobilization dynamics in American Political Science Review and Policy Studies Journal, with a 2025 book project on politicized parenting. Awards include the SPSA Best Paper Award (2024) and APSA Political Psychology Section’s Best Paper Award (2022).
