Timm Betz is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Washington University in St. Louis and directs the ERC-funded PINPOINT project at LMU Munich. His research focuses on international political economy, including trade policy, globalization's political consequences, and methodological challenges in observational data analysis. He holds a PhD from the University of Michigan and previous faculty positions at Texas A&M University and Technical University of Munich.

Research Interests: Professor Betz examines how global markets shape political contests between governments, firms, and citizens. Methodological work addresses spatial interdependence and bias in instrumental variable models.
