Maciej Banach

Maciej Banach is Professor and Head of the Department of Preventive Cardiology and Lipidology at the Medical University of Lodz, Poland, with adjunct/visiting roles at Johns Hopkins University, University of California Irvine, University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Senior Research Fellow at Liverpool Centre for Cardiovascular Science. He leads multiple international initiatives including presidency of the International Lipid Expert Panel (ILEP) and Polish Lipid Association (PoLA), and founded the Lipid and Blood Pressure Meta-analysis Collaboration group.

His research focuses on:

• Preventive cardiology and risk stratification
• Lipid metabolism disorders and dyslipidemia therapies
• Hypertension management and novel pharmacological interventions
• Cardiovascular epidemiology and meta-research methodologies

His 1500+ publications demonstrate consistent focus on evidence synthesis through meta-analyses, particularly regarding lipid-lowering therapies, cardiovascular risk factors, and lifestyle interventions.
